And all eyes were on Kate who is seven months pregnant as royal watchers were eager to seeher dress choice  for the evening, which turned out to be a deep green cap-sleeved gown by Jenny Packham. The dress featured a black sash underneath her bust, which accentuated her baby bump. She accessorized with emerald jewelry, suede Prada heels and a black clutch. The expectant mom wore her hair in perfectly tousled curls.

The Duchess of Cambridge walked the diplomatic line, eschewing the unofficial all-black dress code in favour of a dark green Jenny Packham gown with black ribbon that neither suggested nor denied that she was weighing into the global protest about sexual harassment and gender equality. In a foreword in the ceremony’s programme, the Duke of Cambridge pledged his support to the motions BAFTA had made to safeguard the industry and those working within it: “Levelling the playing field and ensuring a safe, professional working environment for aspiring actors, filmmakers and craft practitioners – regardless of their background and circumstances – is vital to ensure film remains accessible and exciting for all.”
